Just found this site thanks to my cousin Bill in Australia and my brother Robert in Winnipeg.
Just want to say that the picture of Of PK Harry and Blackie took me back there in a flash, how fortunate we all were to have been around such men, each different, but each special in his own way.
I for one will always be grateful for my time at Mazinaw, it taught me I could take care of myself, that I could survive in the company of others and that acts of kindness go a long way.
Summer was a special time for me, freedom, and chance to be free of the city, among other guys like me, and special people teaching us things and lessons we have carried with us through our lives.
I’m sure lots of you out there feel the same way.
Nice to be back!!!!
Peter Vineberg Early Sixtys I think…. hey I told you!!

Wow! This photo is amazing! That’s me in the middle with the red shirt. In front of me the blonde kid with the glasses is my childhood best friend Andrew Westlake. Sadly he was killed by a drunk diver almost 15 years ago in his first week of university. The boy in the foreground sitting down in the striped shirt is Michael Barry who I did not know at Mazinaw but became friends with many years later. He is a professional cyclist and four-time olympian. Seeing all of us together in this photo is amazing to me, almost Twilight Zone-ish. Thanks for all the great summers Mazinaw!
